Bowling Cattle Company
Our Story
Jim, Jennifer, Raegan, and Macy Bowling
Cows have not always been a piece of the daily operations at Bowling Farms, a place that our family has been since my dad, Ralph, first bought it in 1976. Since then, we have operated a seedstock and show pig business, and have raised champions at every level of competition. We continue to raise swine today. However, it was when I, Jim, was showing beef cattle in 4-H that I got my true desire to be in the cattle business. Flash forward years later, our family started the beginning of what is now Bowling Cattle Company. Our cattle operation began with our first small set of 25 cows to have at the farm. Our family’s passion grew for having the cows around, and today, Bowling Cattle Company has grown to a herd of about 225 cows consisting of Maines, Simmentals and a few club calf cows. What started as a hobby, has grown into a business—one where we are striving to make functional cattle that will bring both us and our customers success whether in the show ring, replacement heifers/bulls or in the feed lot. I am fortunate to still work right alongside my father, Ralph, on a daily basis whether it be with the hogs, cattle or with the excavating business we started 12 years ago together. We also have the pleasure of Jeff “CB” Boland being the lead for the cow herd. He manages day to day operations and helps with breeding. From breeding and calving to chores and paperwork, everyone does their part. Here at Bowling Cattle Company, it is a family affair and we truly love what we do.
